Repro-Browser Hangs on 1st access then works on next access

im not sure how long this has been happening, but i dont remember it prior to a few days ago... no change on my system or server
running 1.9.7 release tortoiseSVN
visualSVN server 3.7.0 (free version) using basic auth

when i first access the repo-browser it hangs... stuck saying "please wait..."
but then i immediately open another and within a sec or two im in to the repository...
and even if i open another it works...

then i let some time pass... (5 - 15 mins)

and try again... and it hangs.. try it 10 seconds later and it works


so to recap, 1st access fails, immediate next access works!

any thoughts?

i feel its the server, but i cant say for sure
feel helpless...

Does this only happen in the repo browser or also when you try to update?

Because we have this kind of issue on every request (updates, commits, repo-browser). First reqest times out while every subsequent request works normal (until some time goes by...).

It was indeed the LDAP authentication, Connection Pool TTL setting as described in https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/tortoisesvn/RIZBySDvAv0/discussion

Thank you very much for that hint. We have been searching for the reason since over a year!
