The system limit of 15 overlay icons has been widely debated but it seems that Microsoft has no intention of solving it.
With the integration of OneDrive in File Manager, Microsoft has solved the problem by using a "State" custom column that shows an icon that changes depending on the synchronization status.
I don't know if this solution is limited to Windows 10 (I have no way of trying in previous versions) but I think it might be a good idea to implement in TortoiseSVN as well.

What do you think?

you can only do that for one specific folder (and its subfolders) using a namespace handler. Doesn't work for multiple folders, and especially not for any folder in explorer but only customized root folders in explorer.
So no chance of doing that with TSVN.

I am not sure if the system just ignored my last reply, or if it takes some time to post. My apologies if it looks like a duplicated response

It has been a couple of years since the initial development of the "status" column. Has there been any updates to this that would allow for TortoiseSVN to use those icons? This would be a very beneficial update. Maybe the namespace handler could be invoked every time there is a new checkout?

It would be really nice if this issue could be addressed. It has been a few years now since the initial development of the "status" column. Have there been any improvements that could allow for this type of interface? Maybe there could be a way to invoke the namespace handler every time there is a new checkout?
