Smaller commits of small source files seem to be uploaded at sensible speeds.
Is there anything in particular that makes large files especially slow? I'm on the very last version, but its been like this with the previous one too.

Check whether a virus scanner and/or firewall interferes and 'checks'
every byte transferred, either on your machine or the machine where the
repository is hosted.

This is highly unlikely. Again I wouls suspect a virus scanner which
scans the repository while it receives your commit data and writes it to
the repo folders. It could be that a virus scanner deletes/isolates the
newly transferred/written revision file as soon as the commit is finished.

Since you haven't quoted anything, we don't know the details of the problem.

It was a reply to

(the discussion ended after Stefan asked OP to check the usual

It wasn't my problem, but my questions weren't answered so I have no
idea what was causing the problem for this user.

so, i will investigate more on this problem by my side
and tell you for one any solution.
it is a strange seems network side problem because of more tcp
retransmissions on this part of network were the problem is,
uploads of files more than 10Mo hangs with this (apache logs) :
--
Connection reset by peer: Could not get next bucket brigade [500, #0]
(32)Broken pipe: core_output_filter: writing data to the network
--
smaller files uploads doesn't have the problem...
have a nice day
