In the "Check for Modifications" window, I added the ModificationDate column in second position, immediately after the first column Path.  Then I dragged Path to after ModificationDate, to give me the column order: ModificationDate, Path, etc..  I clicked OK.  I had no other Tortoise dialogs open at the time.

When I re-opened the same window, the column sequence had not been saved.  Path was still first, with ModificationDate second.  I would have expected it to retain my column order preference - ModificationDate, Path, etc..

I tried the same steps again and it still didn't work.  So the next time, after putting ModificationDate before Path I also dragged the TextStatus column in front of Path as well, to give me:  ModificationDate, TextStatus, Path, etc..  I clicked OK.

When I re-opened the same window, the column sequence was ModificationDate, Path, TextStatus, etc..  I would have expected it to retain my column order preference - ModificationDate, TextStatus, Path, etc..  It is as if it recognises one less column movement than has actually occurred.

This may or not be related:  I sorted by ModificationDate and clicked OK.  When I came back in the window was sorted by Path.  I would expect it to retain my sorting preference.  (Perhaps these issues are specific to the relatively new ModificationDate column?)

Thanks for the detailed report.
Fixed in r17720.

The sort order isn't saved at all. And I'm not sure it should.
