I tried to create a more legible unversioned icon (attached).
Basically it has some white space around it to help it stand out in
16x16 format when overlaid onto busy, blue icons such as the Word
document. I also used a different font so that the top of the question
mark is no longer flat. It may not be excellent, but I think it's an
improvement on what is currently being used.

By the way, I would suggest that the question mark not be used to
indicate that a file is not under version control. To me the grayed out
minus or grey x makes more sense for that purpose.

License: It may be freely used.

Did you forget to attach the icon? I can't see it anywhere.

Unversioned Icon post attempt #2. I can't find the attach files option
in Google Groups, so am posting by email with attachment. This is my
attempt at making an unversioned icon (blue ?) that shows up a little
better in 16x16 against icons like the MS word document icon.

This one definetly looks better than the present one to me.

Btw, who created the XP-style overlays? Would it be possible to get an "unversioned" overlay in the same style? (White ball with blue questionmark, or blue ball with white questionmark.) I think that would make the unversioned overlay look more as an integrated part of TSVN (when using XP-style of course).

2009/7/7 Hans-Emil Skogh <Hans-Em...@tritech.se>:

They were originally hand drawn by Lübbe and then converted to .svg
format by Stefan (because no-one wants to draw a 256x256 Vista icon by
hand).

Although the normal, modified and conflict icons are simple shapes,
the add and delete icons are not (both crosses) so it doesn't look
that much out of place. I quite like the idea of a blue ball with
white question mark, but it needs to stand apart from the 'added'
overlay to remind you that there are still files you missed.

Thanks for the icon.
Committed in r16677.

Good point...

Another good point. Maybe we should avoid the blue color alltogether? How about going black and white for the unversioned overlay? That would make it stand apart from the existing overlays while still easily visible. (Black ball, white question mark.)
