Are any Chinese speakers around?

This is an English language mailing list. Mails in other languages
usually aren't even moderated through. Please rephrase the question
in English or try to find a (T)SVN forum with support for your native
language.

That said, the error is related to the usage of TSVN, so should be
posted to the users list, not the dev list. By the way, the user list
also uses English as its language.

Hi,
I'm the moderator who let this through, and I was uncertain about doing so.
On the one hand, it's obviously a user list question, and obviously non-English,
but on the other hand it is a real person sending a real question to the mailing list.
I'm not sure if my function is to trim down inappropriate posts, or just to stop (automated) spam.
What guidelines do other moderators use?

I would do the same.

The "Mails in other languages usually aren't even moderated through"
statement is not a policy (I believe) but a fact, especially with the
tide of Chinese spam (which even GMail fails to mark as spam after
multiple "hints").

If you understand the foreign language and you can see that the
message is not spam, let it through.
There might be someone on the list who can answer the question.

But if you don't understand the language of the email, don't let it
through (and I wouldn't even use a translation tool to find out
whether its spam or not - just delete it and be done with it).

Ok, will do.

Thanks,

Harun

PS: Thanks also for the excellent work you do in TortoiseSVN.
It's one of the only programs that I actually enjoy using, just because
it's so well made.
