Is it possible to use new version of TortoiseGit (above 1.7.10) with
old repository format (msysgit below 1.7.10)?
We have a big repository with long history and many distributed
copies. It is hardly to convert it to new format.

Support for the old format is not easy doable, because we heavily depend on libgit2 and the libgit2 team also dropped support for the old format.
