I have been wondering how notepad2e got onto my system and finally tracked it down to TortoiseGit. But when I looked to remove it, there are no options either in the Windoze add/remove programs interface, nor in the TortoiseGit installer.

Is it possible to remove notepad2e but keep TortoiseGit?

If not, can this please be made an optional component. I do not use it and have no need of it.

Many thanks,

Notepad2 is not part of TortoiseGit 2.18 any more. It was originally
added because Microsoft Windows Notepad could not handle LF EOLs before
Windows 10. As we raised the system requirements to Windows 10, it is no
longer necessary.

TortoiseGit 2.18 is not released, yet.
