Hello,

It is indicating 'master'. It is easy enough to branch to something like 'trunk' and delete the old one, but how do I configure that for TortoiseGit? I have already configured for my local git instance, i.e.

git config --global init.defaultBranch trunk

However the settings do not appear to reflect via TortoiseGit, or Tortoise is standing on a different git instance, and its config, or they are loaded once when the shell mods are loaded or rendered at machine boot. Something like that or in between, I do not know.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Best,

Only changes the default for new repositories.

Only changes the default for new repositories.

I am using the Tortoise 'init' procedure. So, yes, it is a NEW repo.

The settings are fine in the standalone git repo, how do I change the global defaults for tortoise?

TortoiseGit respects that setting.

Maybe you have an issue that TortoiseGit is using a different global config.

Please, constructive feedback only, folks.

This is my assumption, BUT HOW DO I CONFIGURE THAT?!

This is now twice you replied with something that was not helpful.
