Hello all,

I am attempting to send emails via gmail and I keep getting:

Net::SMTPAuthenticationError - 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first.

Has anyone encountered this issue with Ruby 1.9.1? I have found mixed info online none of which has helped me solve this.

Any help would be awesome and if its really awesome I'll buy you a beer!

Hi Krispy,

The error message says that you are playing with some TLS(Transport Layer Security) Mail Server, is it GMail?
