I was really impressed by the slides Sarah Mei posted, from her talk
"Moving the Needle: How the San Francisco Ruby Community got to 18%"

In particular, I'm struck by Slide 22:

In Toronto, our monthly Rails Pub Night meetings are nowhere near 18%.
I find myself wondering: Are there others (besides me) who are
interested in seeing more women join the community? What could we be
doing to reach out?

For (any) women on the list: What's your experience been like with the
Toronto Ruby Community? What could we be doing better or different?

I second your interest in seeing more women join the community.

I'm pretty sure that Rails Pub Night is not representative of the
entire Toronto Ruby community. I've known quite a few people who do
Ruby on Rails but have not even heard of Rails Pub Night, let alone
attend. How many people go to SF Ruby's meetups in total?
