Greetings, all!

There are still a few spots left in this coming Thursday's "Good Vibrations" wireless wearables workshop co-taught by Kate Hartman and Erin Lewis.  The event is at Interaccess.  I believe they are closing registration in the next 24-48 hours. Check out the workshop description below and sign up via the Eventbrite:

What if you could magically nudge your partner from across a room? In this Valentine’s Day edition workshop you’ll learn how to create wearables that wirelessly trigger motors in the clothing of your special someone, and allow them to do the same to you!  Using electronic parts including an XBee radio, some conductive fabric, and a vibrating motor, couples will customize their clothing for 2-way communication.

This workshop is based on the Nudgeables project (http://www.nudgeables.com/) created by the Social Body Lab at OCAD University.

Skills you'll learn:

No prior experience with electronics or wearables is required. In this workshop, you'll learn a bit about:

  • Wireless communication
  • Soft circuit construction
  • Design for wearability
  • Basic sewing and garment alteration
  • Creativity!
