CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS – DUE JAN 20th
The DHMakerBus team, together with Museum London, seeks creations that transform the human body through imagination and technology. The MAKE London Fashion show is not simply about clothing, but aims to combine various concepts of the maker movement by showcasing fashions that are created from unconventional or upcycled materials, and those that involve technology and wearable computing.
The selection committee will not focus on ‘fashion forward’ clothing. They are seeking wearables that can be demonstrated on the runway, not simply modelled. They are looking for pieces that astound audiences and push boundaries. MAKE London is about bringing makers and their creations out of their basements and into the public eye. This is a challenge to create evocative, fantastic, and one-of-a-kind wearables for the human body.
Suitable items might incorporate:
Wearables Made Clothing
Electronic or smart textiles, Computer parts
LED lights, lasers, Repurposed clothing/material
Conductive paint, ink, Hardware, zippers, belts
Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Recyclables (glass, tin, plastic)
Cameras, microphones, Paper products (Newspaper,
