I'm sorry I missed the Transit Camp, but look forward to following
your progress from here in Brisbane/Gold Coast, Australia. I'm very
excited by the idea of the Transit Camp and would love to be involved
in a similar event/community in Australia.
I'm currently working on a transit planner of my own which will work
in a similar way to Wikipedia. It's also got several other features
such as compatibility with Google Transit feed spec, JourneyWeb (UK)
and a Web 2.0 look.
It's still under development, but I hope to be in a position to deploy
a Beta (or Alpha even) in the near future.
There's a lot of scope in this project, and have recently been
considering making the project (or components of it) open source. I
think it would be neat to be able to allow the open source community
to develop their own "plugins" for algorithms, presentations and inter-
server requests.
There is definitely a lot of opportunity for collaboration on the
technology side as well as on the community-building side.
Are there others on this list lurking from other cities? Boston?
Vancouver? Others? We're happy to start a conversation about how to
take transitcamp global.
Mark.
