By popular request, the Crooked Farmz annual collective straw order is back for its sixth season — and it's a quick turnaround.

We source untreated wheat straw from a farm in the Whitchurch-Stouffville area — not certified organic, but no pesticide applications. Clean, local, and exactly what your garden needs heading into the heat of summer. Straw mulch is one of the simplest and most effective things you can do for a growing space: laid around your plants, it locks in soil moisture, moderates temperature, suppresses weeds, and slowly breaks down into organic matter that feeds the soil food web from the top down. Paired with compost tea, it's a powerful combination — microbes thrive in the cool, moist conditions a good mulch layer creates. 🌿🪱

Order deadline: Thursday June 11 at midnight
Pickup: June 12–13 at two locations — East York (195 Mortimer Ave) or Downsview Park Farm (160 Downsview Park Blvd). Please specify your pickup location when ordering.
