View in browser Food Up Front is Back for the 2026 Growing Season! Exciting news: Food Up Front is back this year! We originally launched Food Up Front to help Torontonians grow local food during the pandemic. Between 2020 and 2023, with your participation, we provided over 1,000 households with free seeds, turning boulevards and front lawns into vibrant edible landscapes.  We've relaunched this program for 2026 (and beyond) with the goal of building on this success and we're hoping that you'll continue to be a part of it. New for 2026! A Collaboration with Homestead T.O. To help us run Food Up Front this year, we've partnered with our friends at Homestead T.O. They are dedicated to helping people learn how to grow food through their Grow Veggies program at their urban farm in Downsview Park. Derek and Vinyse have been long-time volunteers of Transition Toronto, helping organize EcoFair for seven years, teaching past Food Up Front workshops, and providing growing resources for our participants.  They firmly believe in the goals of Food Up Front, and are excited to play a bigger role this year to help keep it going for years to come! Why Food Up Front? We believe that when you grow food in your front yard, balcony, or community garden, you don’t just feed yourself, you inspire your neighbours, reduce food mile emissions, and build a more resilient Toronto.
