Hello Toronto Urban Growers,
Scadding Court Community Centre (SCCC) in downtown west Toronto is looking for an experienced facilitator to lead a 90-minute workshop on growing cut flower gardens and creating bouquets using cut flowers.
This workshop is for participants in our Skills2Thrive training program, which supports women interested in starting small businesses in urban agriculture, gardening, and related fields.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide participants with practical skills to utilize flowers grown in SCCC’s gardens to create bouquets for sale at weekly markets. It will also support participants interested in launching small businesses or social enterprises related to floral arranging or cut flower gardening.
We are looking to deliver the workshop on one of the following dates:
  • Tuesday, July 29, 1:00 – 2:30 pm
  • Wednesday, July 30, 1:00 – 2:30 pm
  • Thursday, August 14, 1:00 – 2:30 pm
Ideally, the session will include both a knowledge-sharing component (e.g., slides or a short talk) and a hands-on component so participants can practice their skills during the workshop.
We are able to offer an honorarium of $200 for facilitating the session.
If you are interested, please contact me with a brief introduction, a short proposal for your workshop, and your availability for the dates above.
Please feel free to pass on this message to folks who may be interested in the opportunity.
Thanks so much!
