Job Posting - Farm Finance Mentors

Are you an equity-deserving farmer who has accessed a grant, loan, insurance program, or public land rental for your agricultural operation?

If so, the NFU-O is looking for you! The NFU-O is searching for three Farm Finance Mentors to join an exciting project, “Pollinating Diversity: Overcoming Financial Barriers for Underrepresented Farmers”

This project focuses on supporting equity-deserving and underrepresented farmers to navigate applications for grants, loans, insurance programs, and public land rentals. NFU-O is looking for equity-deserving farmers (women, Indigenous Peoples, people with disabilities, people who are part of 2SLGBTQI+ communities, religious minority groups and racialized people) with experience in accessing these kinds of opportunities to help provide mentorship to other equity-deserving farmers through workshops and one-on-one support to share information about the application process, offer tips and tricks, and outline how a successful application could support their farm operation.

Workshops and mentorship will take place in the Fall/ Winter of 2025 and again in the Fall/ Winter of 2026. The expected time commitment will be a maximum of 20 hours per month each year between November-March, with a monthly stipend of $500 for your time and expertise.

If you’re interested, please reach out to NFU-O at off...@nfuontario.ca by September 19th, with a brief description of the opportunities you have accessed, any workshop/ teaching/ mentorship experience you may have, and why you would be a great fit for this role. NFU-O looks forward to hearing from you!
