Do you live
anywhere near the intersection of Oakwood Ave and Vaughan Road? Are you a
Tree-Hugger TUGger?
Cooling down our summer swelter is not a job for concrete and dead wood. Nope, we need live trees in a healthy tree canopy all across the city. Pollinators and birds benefit too!
The Oakwood Vaughan Community Organization (OVCO) is making available free saplings to anyone that can plant them on private land. Twelve varieties of trees and shrubs are available.
But you must put in your request by October 12.
For contact information, varieties available and pickup location, please visit:

Tree and shrub saplings are distributed every year in Toronto via community-led initiatives such as this one, funded by the city’s Community Planting and Stewardship Grant (see further below Rhonda’s posting of August 13).
