SCCC Canada Summer Jobs position - Food Security Animator

Hello Toronto Urban Growers, 

Scadding Court Community Centre (SCCC) is hiring a Food Security Animator to support food security and community well-being initiatives, including our weekly Community Access Market and community meals for children, youth, seniors, and newcomers to Canada. This position plays a key role in promoting physical and mental wellness by increasing access to nutritious, culturally relevant foods, creating welcoming community spaces, and reducing stress associated with food insecurity. 

This position is funded through the Federal Government's Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) Program. As per the eligibility requirements for the CSJ Program, applicants must:

• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period;
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
