Good morning Toronto Gardeners and Growers,
International Compost Awareness Week runs May 3–9, 2026 — an annual global celebration of one of the most important ecological processes on the planet. Composting is how organic matter returns to the soil food web: how carbon is sequestered, how microbial communities are fed, how the living infrastructure beneath our gardens and growing spaces is continuously rebuilt. It's ancient, unglamorous, and absolutely essential. We think it deserves a week. 🪱🌿
Crooked Farmz will be marking the occasion all week long with Field School workshops, school visits, and daily informative posts across our social channels — diving into composting science, technique, and the soil biology that makes it all matter. Follow along at
instagram.com/crookedfarmz for the full week of content.
To celebrate, we're offering 10% off all Summer 2026 compost tea CSA subscriptions for the duration of ICAW — May 3–9 only. Four seasonal brews, in four size packages, delivered to your door (East end) or available for pickup across the city throughout the summer. If you've been thinking about inoculating your soil with living microbial life this growing season, this is the week to do it. ☀️🌱
Have a great Sunday and a great week! :)
