Hello all,

How about Monday the 25th of February at 6:30PM at my office (257
Adelaide St. West 6th Floor, near St. Andrew station)? I can order
some pizza and we can have a light discussion on what we would like to
accomplish in this group, and head over to a close-by pub for an even
lighter discussion if desired.

Please respond if interested,

Norman Di Pasquale

Sounds like a good idea!

After the event, can someone post a small report of the event and what is discussed on this mailing list for those who are not able to attend.

Thanks!
Michelle

It would be good to announce the time & meeting place on the Joomla! Events Forum, forum,joomla.org as there may be some other locals who would like to attend.

Another suggestion is that it could be good during the meeting that those who can not meet physically (like myself) be able to participate by skype.  What do you think?

Skype sounds like a good idea. My Skype name is "envogue".

Could you add this event to forum.joomla.org, as I am not sure where
to put it :)

@Norman,

Since there is only one week till Monday, Feb. 26, I suggest that you publish an annoncement on the public Joomla! Events Forum.

@Everyone else,
Please confirm that you can attend or if you want to participate with Skype.  Even is only a small number is able to meet, I suggest that you have your first meeting.  Then organize a second meeting (it could be in one month) so that even more want to participate.

Will a couple of people volunteer to bring some light snack food and a couple of others bring beverages: pop, juice, bottled water etc...

Please remember that my role is as a support or resouce person to the Toronto JUG, so I am not the person organizing this event.  It is in your groups hands how you want to organize your meetings. And feel free to organize it different from any of my suggestions.

I published an announcement earlier today for the meeting. I will be
happy to supply some snacks, and I agree that we will hold the meeting
no matter what the turnout; it looks like we have 6 or 7 people
confirmed so far. My skype name is normevcms and I will be logged in
that evening if anyone wants to conference.

Thank you for publishhing the announcement,.
http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=342&t=266508

I have a couple of suggestions.

1. The announcement apears to promote your company.  Self promotion of any kind is not allowed in the forum other than writing your company name & web site in your signature.  Would you mind rewriting your post?
2. Do mention how people can get on the Toronto JUG Mailing List
3. Do mention that if they cannot attend, that they can participate on skype.

The forum post of the first meeting has been deleted from the Joomla! Forum by the Forum Administrator because it broke forum rules of no self or business promotion.

Everyone who posts on the Joomla! Forums must read the forum rules first before posting.  The Forum moderators are extremely strict and will delete or edit any post that breaks their rules.

@envogue you will need to rewrite your post. Please post it on this mailing list first before publishing it on the forum to get some feedback .  We obviously do not want the post to get deleted a second time or even worst you get banned from the forum.
