As of today we have a new federal health minister - Ginette Petitpas Taylor. Her training is in social work, and she has a solid background in advancing and protecting women's rights. In a cursory Internet search, I found no information of any background in drugs issues, nor any statement about the issue, though I cannot imagine that Trudeau would have appointed her if she didn’t have some background in / or at least understanding of drugs - considering the current situation across Canada. Her government background is in finance.

We may have some educating to do!

I feel that we need to quickly put together a letter welcoming her into her new role and emphasising the need for action ... soon.

It’s like we are starting from scratch ... but hopefully we can put that to good use.
