I installed the bookmarks and notes channel but it seems that I may
have forgotten something or there may be some additional configuration
that I am unaware of.

When I add these as channels I get the following errors:
WARN [ErrorRendering#305] error.CError.[] Dec/08 10:31:58 -
ErrorDocument XML is
<error code="2">

This is what is inside my catalina log file:

Laura,

While I'm pleased to hear you're taking a look at the Toro software, I
am wondering: what is the draw of Toro Bookmarks beyond the UW-
Wisconsin-originated Bookmarks JSR-168 portlet shipping with uPortal
2.6.x (and now multiply publishable via the Channel Manager in uPortal
2.6.1)?

Bookmarks is one of these things where I feel like it would be best to
standardize on a particular distribution and give that distribution
the features it needs to have to meet the majority of schools' needs.
I recall there was even some discussion of *not* releasing that
Bookmarks channel source code in Toro to encourage standardization on
and enhancement of the portlet shipping with uPortal.

So if there are ways the out-of-the-box uP 2.6.x JSR-168 portlet needs
to improve to meet needs...

Andrew,

Sorry it's taken me so long to reply, I just got back from our
Holiday vacation. To answer you question, I am undecided on keeping
the Toro Bookmarks channel, I don't want users to freak out with all
of the changes that will be made. However, I have been looking into
the Bookmarks channel that comes with uPortal 2.6.... What I am trying
to figure out is how to pre-populate the Bookmarks channel so when
users login, they will initially see a predefined set of bookmarks.
Drew sent some information on how to do it but I haven't gotten it to
work yet.
