Quezon City, April 12, 1999 - A sure-fire formula for box office success:
Fernando Poe, Jr. and Judy Ann Santos in Star Cinema's "Isusumbong Kita sa
Tatay Ko!" which started shooting last week, directed by Boots Plata.
It's a match produced in celluloid heaven, because FPJ is Da King of
Philippine Movies while Juday is considered today's Drama Princess. In the
movie, he plays the strict father of tomboyish Juday.
FPJ said that his film project with Juday was first planned two years ago
during the induction of
PAMI (Professional Artists Managers, Inc.) officers.
As Badong in Isusumbong, FPJ is the owner of a repair shop, a widower doting
on his only daughter (Juday), who is fast growing up and eyeing boys and
that's the father's problem.
On the Isusumbong set, Juday was happy to discover that the guy playing her
suitor Caloy was a schoolmate (from Mt. Carmel High School, Quezon City):
Leandro Munoz, 20, a Business Management graduate from San Beda and the
current Close-Up Boy. Leandro is being introduced in Isusumbong and
included in ABS-CBN's Star Circle (Batch 8) to be launched first week of May.
"We used to copy from each other during exams," revealed Juday who was happy
to reunite with her former gang mate.
