LLOYD AND JO SURVIVE CRUEL RUMORS

Manila, Dec. 17, 1997 - Presidential son-in-law Lloyd Samartino, billed by
Regal as "The Golden Boy of Philippine Movies" 15 years ago, is a happy
husband and father.

Lloyd, only son of songstress Carmen Soriano, dismisses the rumors that he
and wife Jo Ramos have split and are living separate lives.

"We are a family, we are raising our son rather well, I hope. But we are a
showbiz couple and she had a career before we got married; so did I. Our
showbiz careers were on hold, but now we have decided to pursue our careers
while we still can," explained Lloyd.

He had been linked romantically to Nora Aunor, Jackie Lou Blanco and many
other stars, including Albert Martinez.

"I guess every actor goes through this show business baptism of fire," he
said. He never dignified the "gay" rumors with denials. He just said he and
Albert were friends, period.

Lloyd migrated to the US West Coast after starring in several Regal movies,
He returned and tried directing television shows.
