BAD BOY ROBIN PADILLA NOW HAJJI ABDUL AZIZ

Manila, March 29, 1999 - The colorful life of Philippine cinema's favorite
"Bad Boy" Robin Padilla has just taken another twist. He may now legally
call himself Hajji Abdul Aziz.

Robin embraced the Muslim faith while serving time for illegal possession of
firearms inside the Bilibid National Penitentiary in Muntinglupa. Before his
release, he had fully converted and even married his longtime live-in
girlfriend Liezl, mother of his three daughters.

Released from jail last April after Congress passed a law reducing the
sentence for his crime, Robin continued to pursue his Islamic studies while
attempting a career comeback.

A few weeks ago, Robin's photographs was on the front pages of Philippine
newspapers while walking towards a plane that would take him to Saudi Arabia
for the holy pilgrimage to Mecca. He was accompanied by no less than
Governor Nur Misuari, Moro National Liberation Front Chairman and the
Philippine government's designated official leader of Filipino Muslim pilgrims.

The Hajj, or Mecca pilgrimage, is one of the five pillars of Islam. Having
completed the Hajj, Robin earned the title of hajji, which he can now use
with his chosen Muslim name Abdul Aziz.

Misuari brought with him at least 3,000 Filipino pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
