Quezon City, Oct. 18, 1999 The Star Awards ‘Female Star of the Night’ awardee
showed everyone that she deserves the title, but only the audience at the UP
theater saw her stunt as it was edited from the TV coverage before the delayed
telecast of the proceedings.
Rosanna Roces first stunned the crowd with a one-sided green and black bustier
which exposed her left breast, her nipple barely concealed by an overlay of
body paint and glittering crystals designed like embroidery.
Midway through the awards night, she changed to a high-necked black outfit
that
completely concealed her body, showing only her face. A huge sequined gold
cross on her black tunic was the only adornment that broke the black monotony
of the severely simple outfit.
When she was called on stage to receive the P10,000 cash prize as “Star of the
Night” she slowly unbuttoned the tunic, took it off and turned her back to the
audience. Her entire back was bare, except for a skimpy tanga which called
attention to her firm buttocks.
The Male Star of the Night awardee, Aga Muhlach, could not hide his amazement.
The crowd, however, roared its approval.
Asked tonight on GMA-7’s news program ‘Saksi’ about the censorship of her mild
‘striptease’ bythe show’s director, Rosanna Roces said the show should have
been shown in its entirety since the program aired late at night when the
children and minors should have been asleep.
