TORCH has decided to hold the 2nd Annual TORCH 300 Adventure ride in
the Ouachita (pronounced Wachita) National Forest in Arkansas, June
15th through 21st.
Thanks to Clayton Walther for finding and coordinating an alternate
place for us all to ride in such a short time. Ouachita may be our
second choice, but will be no less awesome. We will have access to
over 120 miles of off-road trails, miles and miles of Forest Service
Roads, plus some additional secret trails that Clayton is getting info
on. There should be no problem in meeting the goal of 300 miles! In
addition, there is canoeing, fishing, hiking and other outdoor
activities for those not riding or needing a break.
A neat feature of this ride is that we will be able to stay in one
location (Mena, AR) and either ride the dirt bikes or have a short
haul to most every trail system in Ouachita. Another benefit is that
it is only 425 miles or 8 hours away, making it easy for folks to just
come up for a portion of the time if they choose.
VERY IMPORTANT:
This time of year accomodations fill up fast, so if you are planning
on attending please make your reservations ASAP. A list of
accomodations follows. Please check with the accomodations owner to
determine the closest place to the trail system. I know for a fact
that the first one on the list is very close and within riding
distance of most trails.

This trip is open to riders of all skill levels as there are trails
appropriate for all levels. We ride this as a group, keep an eye on
each other, take care of each other and help each other out, so there
is no need to worry about getting lost or holding the group up. This
ride is as much about sightseeing and fellowship as it is for riding.
Trails Planned for the ride include:
Wolf Pen Gap Trail
Fourche Mountain Trail
Sugar Creek Trail
Huckleberry Mountain Trail
We are currently working on the weeks itinerary, where to meet for
rides and other details. We will be sharing this with the group in the
next couple of weeks. Obviously, you are welcome to follow the
itinerary or strike out on your own.
OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES:
Each bike will require a US Forest approved Spark Arrestor.
NO OHV sticker will be required.
NO license plates will be required to ride the Forest Service Roads.
If you have any questions about this ride, please email us at
in...@torchriders.org or reply to this forum.
We hope to see you there!!
