Installation error: Build error: Failed compiling object readline.o

Hi,

Am having the following error when trying to install torch on Ubuntu 16.04

gcc -shared -o treplutils.so -L/home/tsombeng/torch/install/lib utils.o
gcc -O2 -fPIC -I/home/tsombeng/torch/install/include -c readline.c -o readline.o
readline.c:8:31: fatal error: readline/readline.h: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.

Error: Build error: Failed compiling object readline.o

I follow the installation guide from   http://torch.ch/docs/getting-started.html

Can any one have an idear of what is wrong ?

Bro install by snypatic packet manager it will work

even with synaptic package managment it did not work

Yes remove tourch and try to reinstall
