Hi all,

I just got the approval email from the app store that the release has
been approved. If you don't see it in your updates yet, it should be
there sometime today. In case you didn't see the previous email, here
are the changes:

* Support recording delete in Dashboard and Library.
* Add Left and Right arrows to the guide to jump forward and backward
by one hour.
* Automatically refresh views when returning from background.
* Fix date ordering in sections of Upcoming Recordings view.
* Ignore mute switch in app media playback.
* Update project to compile with new XCode/iOS 6.1

Enjoy!

Excellent news.  Looking forward to a couple of these, particularly the delete.

Is it just me or is delete only supported in recordings but not videos?

Thanks again for this release

I also found that to be the case.  It would be useful for me to delete videos as well.

Yes, that's the case. There is no API to delete videos (There is one
to remove the row from the database, but not to delete).

Robert, love the app but recording delete doesn't seem to work for me…

If I delete old files from the Library and then toggle Display Live TV off then back on the deletions undelete.

I know, why would I do that? Just fiddling around to get more familiar with the app since I haven't used it much lately.

Besides, those old files don't exist as Mythtv automagically deletes them from the livetv folder after 2 days.

I have 160 non-existent entries in my Torc Library under recordings.

Paul

Pual, when you put it this way, it definitely sounds like a MythTV bug.  Can you do me a favor and do:

From a browser?  You should get a long list of XML.  Are any of the non-existent entries there?  If so then something has gone wrong on your backend in a pretty major way (though I'm not sure what that might be for sure)

OK, just tested-- pulled up separate tabs and got an XML recording list, then I deleted the item and pulled up another copy.  The item was gone.  Toggled LiveTV view on and off, refreshed the library, and it's still gone (including querying from a browser).

It definitely sounds like there's a database issue at hand here.  I would try running whatever the recommended orphan detection script is these days, as it appears your backend is returning those items through the API.

Robert,

I got the list and all of my deletions are still on it…will wait a day or so and se if they persist, maybe it takes a while to "take".

I've attached a Textedit file with the XML output. Keep in mind I deleted everything (160 entries).

I'm going back to look at my backend setup.

Don't know if it's relevant but I'm using a seperate hard drive for my livetv folder…permissions are set to 775 mythtv/mythtv.

Paul

I don't think it matters that it's on a separate drive, though I can't say that for certain.  It's definitely the backend that's sending you wrong data-- if I had to guess I'd say there's some sort of database corruption at hand here, or as a more distant second possibility, that somehow there's a bug between the expiration handling of Live TV and Deleted items in MythBackend (since both use a similar "queue for deletion" mechanism now).  I notice that all your recordings are in the LiveTV Rec Group/Storage Group-- do you have a Default storage group defined?  If I recall correctly, that's the only absolutely mandatory SG for MythTv to operate properly, and if you don't have one it's possible that it could cause issues.

OK, will do.

Thanks for the help…at least I know the problem is with my system now and can try to find it.

Update…fixed.

Found and ran find_orphans.py from the Mythtv wiki.

Everything I originally deleted using Torc was erased, leaving the two recordings I didn't delete intact. Excellent.

Thanks for the help.

Paul
