Telecom Specialist - Governance / Billing (Mississauga)

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Telecom specialist with a background in Governance and billing operations for a 7 month contract with our Mississauga based customer.

Responsibilities:

Governance
◾Communicate Network Operations governance and compliance objectives to ensure an appropriate compliance-aware culture.
◾Generate Network Operations governance and compliance performance measurements and metrics.
◾Engage proactively with cross functional teams to provide actionable insights for making process, governance, and compliance improvements; ensuring overall alignment to the Network Operations strategy.
◾Participate in the design, documentation and communication of Network Operations processes and controls and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
◾Provides reporting and analytical support pertaining to Network Operations governance and compliance.
◾Deliver consistent high quality compliance work across the Network Operations organization.
◾Proactively lead applicable Network Operations teams through audit exercises and address deficiencies found.
◾Lead efforts to resolve, remediate, or resolve issues identified by internal, external, or self-audits.
◾Ensure that all functions and activities are performed in accordance with accepted Network Operations department standards and procedures.

Billing
◾Conduct sample audits of telecom invoices to ensure contracted rates are being applied.
◾Review and analyze telecom invoices to ensure alignment with inventory records.
◾Work with Voice and Data analysts where applicable to review telecom solutions and make recommendations to optimize services.
◾Keep track of and coordinate contract renewals for telecom services.
◾Review telecom inventories and identify opportunities to optimize and consolidate telecom agreements / services

Requirements:
◾Prior experience working for Telecom / IT Service Providers in a governance capacity
◾Strong written and verbal communication skills
◾Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
◾Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio and MS PowerPoint
◾Ability to maintain enterprise wide awareness and think at various levels, ranging from high concept to low detail
◾Ability to manage multiple projects / priorities at one time
◾Knowledge of IT and industry standards and best practices as they relate to IT governance areas such as COBIT, ITIL
◾Ability to work with minimal direction to achieve stated goals or assigned tasks
◾Ability to work in and contribute to a team environment
◾Strong attention to detail
◾Ability to develop and document processes and procedures

Assets:
◾ Prior experience working with Telecom Service Providers in a billing capacity
◾ Prior experience working for a Telecom Service Provider in a MAC / Ordering role
◾ Prior experience with Telecom Expense Management software / solutions
◾ Strong understanding of telecommunications technologies, both network and voice

Duration: 7 months (3-4 days/wk)
