Hi guys,
I'm going to rent an apartment at around Pape/Danforth. My concerns are:
1. Is this a nice area?
2. Can I reach Don Valley Parkway (going south)? I have to drive on DVP every day.
Any opinion would be appreciated.

Pape/Danforth is a great multi-cultural area, especially Greek
influenced [mmmmm... Omonia is my favourite restaurant]. Like any area
of Toronto it will have nice houses and bad houses.

You can get to the DVP south by travelling 5-7 minutes west on
Danforth, across Bloor viaduct and immediately turn right after bridge,
going down into the valley and to the DVP north or southbound.

Unless you are going to the west end, you could simply drive south on
Pape or Broadview and across on Dundas, Queen, or all the way down
either street to Eastern Avenue, then west into the city.

1. The area around Pape/Danforth can be quite nice but of course your
opinion may vary depending on where you are coming from. And of course
there are nice and not as nice streets in any area. The area has
excellent access to the subway, a large assortment of good restaurants
(many of them Greek), and lots of shops and stores along Danforth
(food, furniture, clothing, a bit of everything.) Its reasonably safe,
but its an urban area so crime does exist.

2. There is a dvp on-ramp not very far west, just past
Broadview/Danforth (maybe 1.5 km?). Where are you trying to end up?
Especially during peak periods the congestion on the dvp may not make
it the ideal choice. The subway is quicker to get downtown during peak
times. If you need to drive you may find the local streets to be as
convenient for getting to where you are going.

Pape does not however go straight through south. (there is a
pedestrian bridge in the middle) You could go Pape->Riverdale->Carlaw,
or Broadview (as you mentioned) or Jones (only goes to Queen not
Eastern). Eastern turns into Adelaide (or is it Richmond, I always
forget) and is much quicker than Queen for going downtown.

Best Way is to head North on Pape to O'Connor, go West and you will see a
right turn onto the DVP
