/usr/spool/mail/ai742: Stale NFS file handle

When I log on to the TFN today I was greeted with this message:

/usr/spool/mail/ai742: Stale NFS file handle

When I checked my e-mail I was greeted with this message:

Your Choice ==> , mail
getting user information...done
getting host information...done
/usr/spool/mail/ai742: Stale NFS file handle

I sent myself a test message.
So far I have not received it.

The mail problems are now not just a Pine problem they now are also a MR
problem

Does this have anything to do with the message
Press <RETURN> to begin Login Session
Lately when I receive it, it makes the system appear to be emulate a 300
baud rate modem.
