Sunday May 6 we drove to Guelph for a concert, and beforehand lunched
in the dining room of the Ramada Inn on Gordon Street. It was about
1:30 pm, and the Sunday brunch buffet was over, but the menu was
available. Our service was delayed because of a heated discussion at
the cash register, where the manager questioned the staff about a
customer who'd left without paying the tab. Finally we were served by
an apologetic, pleasant server. She took our order, served drinks
promptly, but we waited - and waited - for the food. We caught her eye
and asked if at least we could get the soup quickly as the concert
would begin soon. She brought it - so salty it was almost inedible.
Then came the "special", the burrito omelets - bland and cold in the
middle. Our server had been so willing to please we kept mum, but if
you brunch at the Guelph Ramada Inn I suggest you show up early enough
for the buffet. We've been there for it and it's much better than
yesterday's late meal!
