If you are having trouble running the Mac version, the first thing to investigate is that all the files that were unzipped from the initially downloaded file are all still in place. It is very important to leave all these files in the same arrangement they were when you unzipped them. For example, you should have a folder called BikeCAD Pro 9.0. Inside that folder you should have a folder called configuration, an executable Jar File called bikeCADPro.jar and an icon called BikeCAD Pro 9.0. The main folder called BikeCAD Pro 9.0 can be moved to a safe location that is out of the way. However, when it is moved, everything inside it needs to move with it. The icon can be dragged down to your "dock" but only after the main folder BikeCAD Pro 9.0 has been placed in its final location.
Since BikeCAD Pro runs as a standalone application on PC, Mac or Linux, many have asked for a demo version that also runs as a standalone application. This is now available at bikecad.ca/bikecadpro. Scroll to the bottom and download your free demo in PC or Mac format. You can copy the URL of any BikeCAD model in the Design archive and open it in the demo version or save designs to your account on BikeCAD.ca. You can also save and retrieve designs locally. There are a few other perks of this demo version. Among them is the option to export an animation of one design morphing to another.
Firstly, after years of pushing, a new way to define the rear end of the bike has been added and is working properly. This new feature in the program will save me a lot of work and is a real gain in precision getting my designs layed out. Any folks working with modern bike design need to really understand this new process as it is crucial as pretty much any mountain or gravel bike will have a bent seat tube.

This major version number has been around since 2013 but the software is always improving, so now you have almost all the bike suspension systems available including special "rail" systems or variations of the MacPherson strut and as complex as 6-bar suspension systems.Complete chain guides, gearbox etc. simulation, also lower chain guide (click on this link to see what we mean)

It is called version X3, almost like (20)13 but we did not want to give any chance to bad luck associated with number 13! (did you know there's a complete literature of Triskaidekaphobia?)
There's a lot of new features, so we hope it was worth waiting the long time until it's been released.

- Anti-rise calculation (the same for braking as anti-squat for acceleration)
- Floater-brakes, with correct anti-rise calculation, thanks to i-Track suspension
- Synchronize suspension travel for all opened bikes (useful for comparing bikes, especially with "ghost bike" drawings)
- Synchronize gears for opened bikes - useful for comparing anti-squat, pedal-kickback
- Rear derailleur modeling with notice for chain shortage or too long chain
- More diagrams, like total chain growth (not just the upper), leverage ratio measured on axle-path (this one is only for Professional version), more anti-squat parameters as written below.

- Better graphics with fill mode options (lines, solid fill, 3D-like fill)
- Drawing of piggyback shocks, brake discs, upside down forks
