Job Title: Apigee Developer
Location: Dallas Texas or Jersey City New Jersey ( Only Locals)
Duration: 12+ months Contract

Job Description: An Apigee Developer designs, develops, secures, and manages API proxies using Google Cloud’s Apigee API platform. They focus on creating RESTful APIs, implementing traffic policies (rate limiting, caching), managing security (OAuth, API keys), and publishing APIs through developer portals to enable seamless integration.

 

Responsibilities:

  • API Proxy Development: Building and configuring API proxies to mediate between backend services and client applications.
  • API Security & Policy Implementation: Applying policies for security (OAuth, API keys), traffic management (throttling, caching), and mediation (transforming data).
  • Lifecycle Management: Managing the full lifecycle of APIs, from development and testing to deployment and maintenance.
  • Developer Portal Management: Creating and maintaining portals to help API consumers learn, register, and test APIs.
  • Debugging & Analytics: Using trace tools to debug end-to-end flows and analyzing traffic data.

Key Skills:

  • Platforms: Proficiency in Apigee Edge or Apigee X.
  • API Technologies: Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, and XML.
  • Languages: Experience with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript (Node.js), or Python.
  • Security: Understanding of OAuth, API keys, and authorization protocols.

Common Tasks:

  • Configuring API proxies in the Apigee console.
  • Setting up API products and managing user access.
  • Using the Trace tool for troubleshooting.
  • Developing documentation on the developer portal.

 

 

Education - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience is required
