I am not sure i understand your question well.
Good morning,
My name is Ainhoa. I have a question about TopoDroid and I'm hoping you can help me.
We have a fairly large topographic survey that we've been working on for years and are still working on.
is this a cave survey ?
We have it drawn in DXF format and the cross-sections are created in Visual Topo.
I did not know that VisualTopo can create cross-sections.
Maybe you mean the plan/profile view of the centerline ...
I've imported the Visual Topo file and all the cross-sections appear perfectly in TopoDroid.
Again TopoDroid imports only the survey data (centerline and splays/LRUD) from VisualTopo files.
Now for my question: in that same TopoDroid file, can I place the DXF file in a sketch and see the cross-sections I'm creating with Visual TopoDroid?
There is nothing like import of DXF sketch files.
As a matter of fact only PocketTopo drawings can be imported.
Therion sketch files can be opened, but not im[ported in a survey.
And another question: in a file, can I select only certain cross-sections and create a sketch of just those sections?
Yes, somwhow.
You can hide portions of the centerline in the view.
Alternatively you can copy the selected shots to a new survey and open a sketch of it.
See the manual for details.
I'm not sure if I've explained myself clearly.
i am sending my reply to the topodroid list,
in case someone wants to add something ...
Thank you very much and best regards.
