TD and XBLE issue

Dear Marco,

I recently updated to the latest stable version (TD 6.3.63-36) and I noticed a weird issue with surveying with Disto XBLE. Station numbering is skipping every other number, so the numbering goes 1-3-5-... I noticed that it works correctly for a second (or less), as the station shortly appears on sketch and then disappears, and also following splays are labelled correctly (see print screen as I am not sure how to explain it better). The phone also makes a double sound for successful triple shots. Do you have any idea what goes wrong?

does this behaviour happens consistently every time ?

does it persist after a forced stop of the app (settings app | apps |  com.topodroid | firce stop) ?

--> We surveyed cca 300 m of cave with this issue, I restarted the the app several times, and I think that we made few shots without issues, and that the issue reappeared after few shots. But I am not 100% sure, as it was long and a bit hectic trip.

Phone software update & restart and it works now (tested up to 10 shots). I should have tried this first🙈. I will let you know if the issue appears again.

The problem has been around for a long time and is not consistent enough to determine the cause. It has nothing to do with XBLE.

If anyone figures out how to intentionally cause this error, please post it.

Hi,

I didnt have this issue since upgrade from TD to TDX, up until now. I asked in our club, and it happened to two other members after update of TD to 6.3.63.36, various phones (I think all are Samsung), DistoX2. So the bug occurred three times independently after the last update. We survey cca 10 km per year.

I can update TD on two other phones (Samsung Galaxy S23 and G Pixle), and test it immediately, but would need to know how to debug/what to report. I can also ask in the club for mass update and test but it will take some time. If it helps.

change sources to log the workflow in the method StationNameDefault:assignStations

logcat and filter the output on topodroid-X.
