Hi. I am inquiring about the best method and specific paths to install a new symbol set or alter the file names and/or alter the name within the symbol file itself.
I’ve tried to push a folder in to the com.topodroid.TDX WITH NEW SYMBOLS and altered ones. When my tablet is hooked to my laptop ADB shows they’ve installed but after restarting Topodroid the new folder isn’t present to install from the pallettes area. I’ve also tried to alter existing ones with no success.
Can you help me on this??
Thank you.

Thank you for responding so quick. That’s my issue. I can code up the “custom symbol” but I’m not allowed to paste it in the Point folder for instance. I go to paste it in there and nothing happensSent from my iPhoneOn Aug 29, 2025, at 9:35 AM, Marco Corvi <marco...@gmail.com> wrote:

That’s why I’m asking you. I’m so sorry to bother you with it. Should I leave the “symbols” folder out of the push cmd then??Sent from my iPhoneOn Aug 29, 2025, at 10:15 AM, Marco Corvi <marco...@gmail.com> wrote:

I thought I was installing kovacs-V1 into the symbols folder where the Topodroid symbol files are in the sub folder(s) point/lines/area etc.Should I just push a new point symbol into the systems point folder? Or simply put a new symbol into its own folder like “kovacs_V1” straight into the com.topodroid.TDX/files??-I’m a HUGE fan of you and Topodroid man, I’m sick of people diminishing your symbol sets so I figured if I could add a few more “accepted” symbols, at least in Missouri, where I live, it’ll be more widely accepted. there’s only a handful of people here using Topodroid. -same with Therion as well.Thank you for taking the time to respond. I just need a little guidance. If you don’t have the time I completely understand.

I apologize. When in com.topodroid.TDX (the path continues) to /files/symbols (then) the Point/Line/Area are the sub folders located in thefolder called symbols.I wasn’t sure if I should create a separate folder with the new point symbol in it or just place it directly into the /files/Symbols/point folder…
