I use DistoXBLE (HW 1.3, FW 2.7). I found on Github that there are also FW
2.7.1 (firmware2701.bin) and FW 2.7.10 (firmware2710.bin).



I wanted to update the FW using Topodroid, but it doesn't offer these FWs
(not even 2.7). Looking into the Android/data/com.topodroid.TDX/files/bin
directory, I found out that there is indeed no FW for DistoXBLE (only for
DistoX and DistoX2). I updated to the latest version of Topodroid 6.3.56,
but the result is the same.



My questions:

1.      If I manually copy the mentioned FWs from Github to the bin
directory, can I use them?

topodroid checks the firmware file signature.

if it is ok you can use it.

2.      What do these new FWs bring, what are the differences between them,
can I use the latest 2.7.10 without any worries?

i don't remember changes in the xble with novel features.

maybe someone in the list can say something ...

3.      What does error code 290 mean (see attachment)? The manual lists
code 260 as the highest. The error occurred during outdoor measurement in
sunlight (9->6?).
