Workflow... from TopoDroit to paper maps...

Are they any articles / papers about the workflow to create paper maps from TopoDroid Sketches?

How to create *.th2 in Therion? I have to import the *.th2 files from TopoDroid plan and profile sketches, or i can generate new ones from *.th files exported from TopoDroid?

I still try to understand...

Maybe there are other software reccommended...

Did you check the docs on the website ?

There is a doc for therion

(a bit outdate: 2018)

The first place you should have checked is Therion wiki on therion website.

Other software i'm aware of are: illustrator/inkscape etc., autocad&c, csurvey, caverenderpro, tunnel, topocalc'r, ghcavedraw ... maybe others i do not remember right now.

People have also tried to use software designed for different purposes to draw cave maps !!!

I hope that you are not disturbed by the messages...

I still try to find the best workflow to use the surveys / sketches from TopoDroid to a final paper map.

I am working/reading tutorials for therion but i am stack in combining multiple surveys in one map... 

I tried the cSurvey, I think that is more visual, but I cannot open/import the files exported from TopoDroid.

Do you have any explanation what the problem can be? (I attach a printscreen)

I don't.

I suggest you send the csurvey problem to csurvey mail group, and therion problem to therion mail group.

You have more chances that somebody has already faced the same problem and can help you.

Yep, thank you, but i think that is related more to TopoDroid versions.

I realized that files exported with 4.1.4g are working but the files exported with 4.2.4.a are not working, cSurvey doesn't open them...

Are some modifications made about the cSurvey exports?

csurvey version of the export file is 1.11.

Previously it was 1.07

current csurvey production version is 1.09.

Maybe it will be updated soon.

In the meanwhile you can

- either use previous topodroid

- or download the nightbuild of csurvey

Hopefully everything will be in order with csurvey version 1.20 and topodroid v. 5.0.0

Principle of Therion is you have surveys (aka surveing trips) in first level, than you may connect more surveying trips to survey of a part of cave in higher level survey, etc. - by input .th file and equate appropriate stations. Surveys MAY include .th2 files (input xxxx.th2), which include scraps. Scrap is the basic unit for construction of map/maps. Scrap for plan or elevation projection MUST include one station and be properly scaled or MUST include 2 or more stations to calibrate (georefence) position and dimension of scrap. Map may be defined as from surveys or from scraps and maps, but you may not combine maps defined from surveys with map defined from scraps/maps. The structure of maps may not mirror the structure of surveys, you may draw scrap, which has defined stations from several surveys too. Only requirement is, that the .th2 file with such scrap is on such level of hierarchy of surveys, that Therion "has informations" of all nested data. 

It looks complicated for a simple caves, but it is only way how to arange data in the really complex systems.
