Sincronización entre simbolos de Topodroid y Therion

Hola Marco,

Primero felicitarte por el gran trabajo realizado con esta aplicación de topografia de cuevas en Android.

Estoy empezando a utlizarla, y la curva de aprendizaje ha sido dura por la sofisticación del programa, aunque facilitada por la gran cantidad de documentación (manuales, presentaciones, videos, etc) que has puesto a disposición de los usuarios en la web. Visto los resultados obtenidos en las primeras pruebas veo que vale la pena.

Al mismo tiempo estoy empezando a utilizar Therion como herramienta de tratamiento del dibujo final.

Realmente es increible el potencial de uso de Topodroid y Therion. Despúes de una sesión de topo durante el dia, por la noche ya tenia la topo impresa con una muy buena calidad.

Y aqui viene mi pregunta: hay en algun sitio la descripción en formato Therion de los simbolos que Topodroid exporta como usuario (ej.  u:mud)?
La importación en Therion ha sido perfecta a excepción que no reconoce esa simbologia de usuario.
¿Tienes la simbologia de usuario de Topodroid en formato Therion?  Si no. me dedicare a recrear la simbologia de usario de Topodroid que utilizare en formato Therion. De hecho también tengo que incorporar alguna simbologia de Therion que no esta en Topodroid (ej. line:flowstone).

Puedes contestar directamente en italiano o ingles.

i reply in english because i think it is more convenient for most people.

indeed topodroid has many functions, but a user does not need to know about most of them to use the program profitably.

drawing tools:

topodroid has drawing tools that are not in therion (these are exported as u:...  eg u:mud which is the therion syntax for user-defined symbols.

to render them properly in therion you need to provide a matapost definition of the symbol. you can find docs and examples in therion wiki.

on the other hand there are symbols in therion that are not included in topodroid.

however topodroid has only six "system" tools always present: point-label, line-wall, area-water, and the three generic "user" symbols.

all the other tools can be changed, deleted, and replaced by the user.

to this extent, change the files in topodroid/symbols subdirectories, and restart topodroid (stop it, not just close it because android tries to keep it in memory if you only close it).

search about how to write symbol files among topodroid docs.

or start from an existing file and modify it.

if you write new symbol files and think it worth to add  them to topodroid you can add them to the repo on github (let me know, so that i add you to the collaborators)

I've been playing with Therion and Topodroid symbols for a while. During this time, I have been assigning the Therion symbols, modifying others and making new ones.

I have done the same with the Topodroid symbols. I have built a new Topodroid personal symbols set; with new symbols and modified others to suit my club survey style.

If you want, I can send you my Topodroid Symbols directory  and my Therion symbols definition layout.

i appreciate your effort.

i'm not sure how much of the current symbol set can be changed, because symbols are part of the user experience and any change must be very gradual.

at leadt i could put them on the website for download, if you do not mind.

To what email do I send the symbols?

As commented this is my personal set, but may be useful for other cave surveyors.

The new ones can be incorporated as a new set for the Expert and Tester level users, like the other additional sets.  The new symbols have only English and Spanish names, and th-name, and have to be translate to other languages. It’s easy to do, because the most symbols are standard Therion symbols and we have translates in the Therion source.

The modified symbols are more problematic, because is a personal decision to adopt this style. The chosen symbols follow the Catalonian and Spanish federation guidelines (look the Albert Martinez books referenced in your web).  I send you an example pdf with the Therion legend to look the symbols used.
