AVG anti-virus software has just started reporting a problem in a file called jittmp0.dll and possibly other jittmp files.

These are actually files generated by the Java JIT compiler on each users computer after installation.  The names vary from PC to PC, but "jittmp0.dll" seems a constant while the number nnn in "jittmpnnn.dll" can vary. This may be because the way files are added to jittemp depends on what action the user does first on the first run after installation.

I find that if I delete the jittemp directory, they are regenerated and the same warning appears.

We have reported this to AVG and sent samples.

On several previous occasions when we reported a false positives to AVG they acted quickly.  Last time, they adjusted the signatures within a day.  So we have good hope that this will be resolved quickly.

Meantime, if you have an urgent need to use Topicscape, you will need to replace AVG with other A-V software.

AVG are outstanding.

10 hours after I reported this false positive, I checked for an update, found one, installed it, and Topicscape now runs again.

There is no need to re-install Topicscape - if AVG deleted the files it reported, they will be regenerated when you run Topicscape.
