Mom and I are very happy Ricki is able to come up from TN to visit for the weekend. The family has decided to hold no services except a private viewing for Dad's siblings. Thanks to College Mennonite Church, which is going to allow us to scatter Dad's ashes in their memorial garden, a long-time wish of Mom and Dad.

Personally, Monday was a day of grieving but I got a good night's sleep and yesterday I had a lot of happy times and felt much better. I think my brother's in about the same boat, and Mom is "fine" because, as she says, it hasn't really sunk in yet.

I go back to school Monday, with kids coming Wed, and I keep waking up from bad dreams where no one is wearing masks (a mandate at our school, but only because it's a state mandate). The fear of Covid is the reason I'm very glad we are having such a small viewing. Thinking of being with a large group of people makes my skin crawl right now.

PS. Mom asks that any memorial donations be directed to First Mennonite Church of Middlebury, designated to the Mom and Dad's Maranatha SS class which supports different good charities with their funds.
