update on my mom

Mom says I can share this with everyone. Big changes this year! 

First a "commercial" message, Mom and I are having a garage sale out at my place in Topeka tomorrow and Saturday, from 8am to ??. We've got our usual stuff collected during the year, but also stuff from Dad's shop and the garage clean out and a van-load of stuff Ricki sent from an abandoned apartment he came across in his work for the property management company. Feel free to come out, pick up some bargains and help us clear it out! 

Second, Mom will be moving. With Dad gone, an acre of property is too much. I took a day off of school a couple of weeks ago and we visited Greencroft to see what was available and Greencroft sounds like what Mom wants, probably in the Courts. Spring/early summer is usually a good time to sell a house. Mom's OK with this, she's had time to wrap her mind around it, all good and thought-out so far....

THEN Mom called up a realtor/auction friend from church to come see the house and give her some advice. He isn't conducting auctions during the pandemic, but gave her some contacts that are. But the big news was the house. He says the market is hot, she can probably get a lot more out of it than we ever expected, but she should sell NOW. Yipes! 

So, she's got a lot to think about as we sit out in the crisp fall air together for the next two days.
