Some ideas about functions of this sort which could be helpful in layout
generation. For example:

box overlap(point list);
box overlap(layout);
box overlap(layout list);

Also two more planar operators for boxes can be introduced:
/\ (blow) i.e. box /\ number // points up i.e. enlarge
\/ (shrink) i.e box \/ number //

Another possibility is to have functions similar to overlap, but
calculating the area more precisely.

point list overlap_poly (layout list, number)

i.e. returns a polygon which overlaps a list of objects by "number"
