S3 External System

Hi,

I am trying to utilise the "External Systems Integration" in EDG 7 with an S3 bucket. If there is documentation for this could you please point me to it - I was unable to find the details.

Can you tell me how to provide the necessary authentication details? I assume this is an AWS Key and Secret.

If I hit the "test connection" button with Environment selected, it always says success. Alternatively, if I select "Credentials" it's not clear to me what ID, Key and Token refer to.

Once I've provided these, how will I know that the connection is working correctly? I've tried adding a "corpora" and selecting the S3 configuration in order to test entry of credentials - this doesn't work as presumably I haven't authenticated.

You will see it references AWS documentation, links below. You can use either credentials or environment variable of your choice. Credentials should be your access ID and secret key, token is optional depending on your configuration.

This feature is used in several places including the backup and restore utility and export from the basket. You could try to export a collection to S3 to test: https://doc.topquadrant.com/7.0/basket/#Export_to_S3. Also, test connection should fail appropriately when using credentials.

Thanks Taryn,

I've got it to work with credentials. I do get a pop up for "token password" in composer though, I just leave it blank, click OK and it works. Is this password for temporary access keys https://docs.aws.amazon.com/general/latest/gr/aws-sec-cred-types.html ?
