When viewing a Node Shape in the Assets Hierarchy and right-clicking on an associated Property Shape, I see two options:

Selecting Add existing... allows me to add an existing instance to the hierarchy.  The instance readily appears in the tree.

Selecting Add new... allows me to create a new instance of the appropriate type.  However, while the new instance is created, it is not added to the tree widget nor is it added to the instance (Top Level Node in this example).  I have to navigate to the new instance and manually add it.

Shouldn't the newly created instance be automatically added to the corresponding node like the Add existing... option?  Not doing so limits the utility of the Assets Hierarchy to rapidly create instances in a structured manner.

Thanks,

Tim

Hello Tim,

yes I have just checked the code and can see that in some cases - depending on the type of instance you are creating there, it may not use the parent (Top Level Node here) correctly. I have recorded this defect and hope to have it fixed for the 7.1 final release.

Thank you for the report!
Holger
