Switching EDG server from Form-based to Basic Authentication

Hi all,

I recently created an EDG server where people log in using the form based login.

In order to connect to the server from another application it would (for now) be easier to use basic authentication.

I've tried changing this in the web.xml file. But this did not work. Should I change the config somewhere else as well? Or is there maybe an easier way of changing the authentication method?

Hi Sjoerd,

It should be possible to manually update just the web.xml to get the authentication switched, but you can also build a new web.xml by redeploying a fresh copy of the edg war and filling out the deployment descriptor page again, pointing to the existing workspace location.

Hi Pat,

I updated the form based auth to basic auth but did not remove all the form based config tags. After removing those it all worked.
